Hey! I have been a huge fan of Gibran too. And this one has been a favorite. Not just because it espouses what Lord Buddha teaches but also because how closely my life has flowed just like this poem. Every time I fear something, I remind myself to surrender to the cosmic knowledge that’s beyond us. Thank you for sharing this one! It’s always a blessing to be often reminded of such lessons.
This reminds me of a conversation I once had with a sky diver. The message was that, once they had stepped out of the plane, they had no option but to move on and complete the journey to the ground – it simply wasn’t possible to have second thoughts and get back in the plane. When they did reach the ground, they had a tremendous feeling of satisfaction from the endeavour.
I’ve always liked Khalil Gibran’swork and this relates so well to your last blog!!

Like the others, I know a few of his more famous poems but I love this one! I love that the river is SHE. I relate to that.

Glad you enjoyed this poem and yes it’s one of the lesser know ones but still incredible.

That’s a great story and I definitely understand that feeling of satisfaction when you are able to achieve something despite the fear.

Great analogy of life flow. Whatever turns a river takes it can only move forward, bearing the marks of its past, with the view of its future 🙂
